Should I post on LinkedIn on weekends?

Weekends aren't off-limits: skipping weekends for weekdays-only fails, while Saturday and Sunday at 6 a.m. in the queue works.

Yes. Weekends actually do really well on LinkedIn, and I put Saturday and Sunday in my own queue on purpose. Skipping them because it feels "off hours" usually means you are following a weekday calendar in your head, not how the feed works.

I've been posting on LinkedIn every day for about six years. I have around 26,000 followers, all organic, and there is still no way all of them see every post. That is the part most people miss when they treat Monday, Wednesday, Friday like a sacred schedule.

Do weekend LinkedIn posts perform well?

Yes. When someone is already posting Monday, Wednesday, Friday, I tell them to throw a video or a solid post onto an off day, including Saturday. Weekends are not dead air. People still open LinkedIn on Saturday and Sunday, and those posts still get shown.

Your brain wants a tidy weekday cadence. The algorithm does not care about that tidy calendar. It surfaces some posts to some people on each day. If you never publish on the weekend, you just leave those slots empty.

What does a weekend LinkedIn schedule look like?

Mine is set up Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday for text posts, with videos on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Everything goes out at 6 a.m. The next open spot is often Sunday at 6 a.m., and that is normal for me, not a special experiment.

You do not need my exact days. You need a queue you can keep. Three times a week on weekdays is fine to start. Adding Saturday or Sunday is how you stop pretending LinkedIn only exists Monday through Friday.

Should I only post on weekends?

No. Weekends are an add-on, not a replacement. If you only show up Saturday and Sunday, you still leave most of the week empty. The people I work with usually start with a weekday base, then put video or an extra post on the off days, including the weekend.

    Is Saturday or Sunday better?

Both can work. I use both. I would not spend a week A/B testing Saturday versus Sunday while you still do not have a queue. Pick a fixed 6 a.m. slot on one weekend day, keep it for a month, and judge it the same way you judge weekdays: profile views and people saying they saw your stuff, not one post's dopamine.

How do you post on weekends without living on LinkedIn?

Schedule it. I come in and queue the week in about 15 minutes. Saturday and Sunday are just two more spots in that queue. You write when you have energy, then the post goes out when people are scrolling. That is the whole trick.

If you wait until Saturday morning to decide whether you feel like posting, you will skip it. Put it in the queue on Tuesday and move on.

    FAQ

Should I post on LinkedIn on weekends in 2026?

Yes, if you already have a weekday cadence. Weekends are not off-limits, and they often perform well.

Do people even use LinkedIn on Saturday and Sunday?

Yes. Enough people do that weekend posts still get distribution. Leaving those days blank is a choice, not a requirement.

What time should I post on weekends?

I use 6 a.m. for everything, including Sunday. A fixed slot you can keep beats hunting for a magic weekend hour.

    Is posting every day required?

No. I post every day because that is my intensity. Most business owners should start at about three times a week, then add weekend or off-day posts if they want more surface area.

    What is Mylance?

Mylance is a LinkedIn content system that turns your real expertise into posts that sound like you. It starts from your own notes, calls, and stories, helps you decide what to say, and learns from your edits. You stay in control of what goes out.

    Bottom line

Post on weekends. I do. Saturday and Sunday are in my queue at 6 a.m. because weekends actually do really well, and waiting for a perfect weekday calendar is how people stay invisible half the week.
