LinkedIn posting frequency

LinkedIn posting frequency that works for most business owners is at least three times a week on your personal profile. That is the floor I argue for, because your followers only see a fraction of what you publish. Once a week looks consistent to you. To everyone else it often looks like silence.
I say that as someone who has posted every day for six years, run workshops for consultants and fractionals, and built Mylance as a LinkedIn content system. Frequency is not a vanity metric. It is how people who do not already know you start to recognize the work before a call.
Mylance is a LinkedIn content system that turns your real expertise into consistent LinkedIn content that sounds like you.
What LinkedIn posting frequency actually means
It means how often you show up in the feed relative to how often the algorithm shows you to any one person.
People hear "three times a week" and assume their network sees them three times a week. That is not how LinkedIn works. On workshops I put it bluntly: it is not like you post and your entire community of connections, whether it is 500 or 5,000, sees it that day. LinkedIn might never show half your followers that post, and that is honestly going to be the majority of them.
I post every day. There is no way my 26,000 followers see every post I make every day. That would make no sense if that is how the algorithm worked. So when I talk about posting frequency, I am accounting for reach leakage. Three times a week for you is closer to once a week for them.
What posting frequency should I use on LinkedIn?
Minimum three times a week. More if you can hold quality. Below that, you are mostly invisible to people who do not already have your name in their head.
I am going to say minimum three times a week. Someone always pushes back. That is fine. I am still going to argue at least three. On product demos I say the same thing: we always recommend at least three times a week, but if you are committed to once a week you can do that. I will still encourage more, because I have seen it work for me and for hundreds of people I have worked with.
My own cadence is daily. The default I teach most operators is Monday, Wednesday, Friday. That is enough surface area for stories to land without turning LinkedIn into a second job.
Why does posting frequency matter more than one perfect post?
Because familiarity compounds across many posts, and one polished post cannot fix weeks of silence.
This is not post once and you are good. Not post for a week and you are good. I will be posting on LinkedIn forever. Even if I burned the company down tomorrow, I would still post, because people who know me, trust me, and are familiar with me will always matter.
The number I watch is profile views. In one workshop I showed 3,166 profile views across 90 days. That is not a viral spike. That is what steady posting frequency does when people already live on LinkedIn. You do not need to drive them to a website first.
My best post was a story from the early Uber days when Uber and Lyft launched Raleigh on the same day. That one generated about 700,000 impressions and 22 inbound leads. I share that so you know what specific, lived posts can do. It is not every post. Frequency is how you give more posts a chance to be the one that sticks.
Will a high posting frequency spam my network?
No. Most people will not see most of your posts.
If you think three times a week is too much, try like 10 times a week. I am only half joking. The fear is that you will overwhelm people. The reality is the algorithm already throttles distribution. Your job is not to protect strangers from hearing from you. Your job is to show up often enough that the right people recognize what you know.
Nobody on the other side is sitting there inventing a story about whether you used a tool, hired a writer, or committed to three mornings a week. They care whether it sounds like you or like AI slop.
How do I keep posting frequency without burning hours?
Schedule the week in one sitting, ship at 80%, and write from work you already did.
It is really common to spend hours on a LinkedIn post thinking it needs to be perfect. Throw that out. Get it 80% of the way there and ship it. Done is better than perfect. One or two quiet posts do not hurt you. Never posting does, because your competitors are posting.
On demos I show the queue: every week we generate Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I come in and schedule my posts for the week in about 15 minutes. For most people it is 20 to 30 minutes to get three posts queued. That block is the forcing function. Inspiration is optional after the calendar is full.
Personal profile or company page for posting frequency?
Personal profile first. Put your cadence there.
If you only post in one place, post on your personal page and treat the company page as an afterthought. Buyers follow people. A busy company page will not fix soft personal positioning or a dead personal cadence.
A simple LinkedIn posting frequency plan
Do this for the next 90 days before you rewrite the rules.
1. Lock a floor of three posts a week on your personal profile. Default days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
2. Schedule the week in one sitting. Fifteen to thirty minutes. Queue first.
3. Write first-person posts from real work: learnings, wins, mistakes, customer moments. Not generic tips.
4. Ship at 80%. Edit out AI-sounding words. Do not wait for perfect.
5. Measure profile views over 90 days, not one post's luck.

FAQ
What is a good LinkedIn posting frequency?
At least three times a week on your personal profile. Daily works if you can hold quality. Consistency beats bursts.
Is posting every day too much on LinkedIn?
Usually no. Most followers will not see every post. Daily can feel like spam to you and still look sparse to them.
Does posting frequency matter if my posts are not perfect?
Yes. Ship at 80%. Done is better than perfect. Empty weeks hurt more than an imperfect post.
